Wildlife and Nature Photography©

A nature photographer stops to check a shot.Wildlife photography begins with successful tracking, knowing the fundamentals of transport cover, bedding areas, reproductive cover, feeding zones and basic wildlife behavior. Add to these tools a working knowledge of your particular camera, its lens and speed capabilities, and we have the essentials for successful wildlife photography.

During this program you'll discover techniques for recording wildlife and nature using film, digital and video techniques. We'll begin with a field lesson in tracking. As you hone your tracking skills we will share our wildlife photography questions and stories, including pros and cons of various lenses, how to light your subject, how to conceal yourself from your subject and when it is appropriate to use a long lens and when it's better to be close to the action.

Come spend unforgettable days in the mountain wilderness filled with elk, bear, deer, mountain lion and coyote. Follow the track of a lynx and pause to enjoy the melodies of the canyon wren as the wind sifts through the trees, distributing the fragrances of mountain blooms. This is the stuff of legends.

Bring your camera, associated gear and a bag that lets you carry it all comfortably.
